The Survival Capsule Hotel

First created for accommodation as an art project in 2004, owner Denis Oudendijk has different models ready for use and is currently working on additional locations in central Amsterdam and Nantes, France.

Moored in F.A.S.T. (Free Architecture Surf Terrain) – a unique and artistic surfers village at the boulevard of Scheveningen near The Hague, Netherlands, your room is a bright orange survival pod made from travelling oil rig survival capsules. Originally built in 1972 they are 4.25 metres in diameter and unaltered apart from the addition of a lock on the outside and an ‘emergency’ chemical toilet inside. While not everyone’s luxury choice, each pod provides cosy protection from the elements for up to three occupants.

Motorcycle Made From Lobster Shells

This motorcycle made from lobster shells was created by Taiwanese chef and food carving artist Huang Mingbo at a seminar on cooking art in Fuzhou, southeast China’s Fujian province. We’ve seen motorcycle sculptures made from some unusual materials, but we can honestly say this is the first time we’ve seen one made from a crustacean.

Steampunk-Style Apartment in Manhattan

A Filmmaker named Jeremy Noritz with a passion for Steampunk began renovating his 1.3 million dollar apartment when he bought it in 2006. Now he is selling the Manhattan dwelling for 1.75 million which is now fully Steampunk including the bedroom which resembles an exploded blimp.

It is fully featured with a nice kitchen and appears to have one bathroom and one bedroom. One thing that does jump out is the big private terrace that the apartment has. Anyone that lives in this place will certainly have the admiration of geeks all around the world that are into steampunk. The apartment has a very movie set feel to it.

Hidden Messages on Dollar Bills

First off, these aren't real hidden messages, but rather words pieced together by folding a dollar bill. New Orleans-based artist Dan Tague folds a dollar bill as many as 100 times, until it spells out an unexpected phrase, including “We Need A Revolution” and “Trust No One”.

Trust No One

We Need A Revolution

Live Free Or Die

Dont Tread On Me

Lest We Forget

Reality Sucks

Save The Coast

Freedom Land

Holy Shit

Love And Hate

The Kids Are Alright
